/fallbreak

Today is the last day of my fall break. I had a week away from teaching the little ones. It was good. Didn’t complete any of the tasks I wanted to, but I relaxed, caught up on some TV shows and got a lot of rest. That’s what breaks are for, right?!

In the beginning of the week, my boyfriend and I spent some time in his hometown of Ravenswood, West Virginia. It’s a teensy little town with a population of only 4,000. We spent the days running around visiting his family and the nights drinking and hanging out with friends. We had a good time. I always love visiting West Virginia in the fall. ┬áMost of the state is covered in trees in bright orange, greens, and reds. It made the 5 hour drive from Indiana a beautiful ride. Here’s a few photos I snapped while we were there.

D.C.

D.C. Was a blast. I left WV at 6 am on Saturday morning and arrived in D.C. at 9:30 am. I may have been speeding a little bit…just a little bit. I stayed in D.C. for 3 days and did as much exploring as I could. I’ve been to D.C. a couple of times, but it was when I was much younger so I have almost no recollection of it. While I was there this time, I went to a cultural festival, took a cruise from Georgetown to Alexandria, took a stroll through the sculpture garden, hung out on the mall, went to a huge drum circle in Meridian Hill Park, shopped at the Eastern Market on Sunday, and ate a whole lot of food! I also hung out with an old friend and met some new friends. It was nice being away from here for awhile. I wish it could’ve lasted longer!
