I’ve been dreaming of the perfect gingham dress for summer and I’ve finally found it!
I picked this blue and white gingham dress up from Target and I couldn’t be happier with it. It’s 100% cotton, so comfortable and breezy! The skirt is very full giving it a fun vintage inspired look. The dress is available in a small up to XXL!
Are you on board with the gingham trend? I can’t get enough!

Hedgehog brooch from Funlola’s Workshop Warning: Everything in the shop is extremely adorable! Handmade with polymer clay and lots of love, this little hedgehog brooch is beyond perfect. I love peeking into the making of Funlola’s creations through her Instagram account. The time she takes on each item is reflected in her art.

Grappas and Tapas Dress
Love the style and bright bold colors of this dress. I’ve been debating back and forth about getting it for my birthday.
Redonda Beach Romp Sandal
It’s starting to warm up around here. Flat strappy sandals are a staple in my wardrobe and these gold ones are so cute!
My wishlists and Pinterest boards are filled with geeky clothing that need to live in my closet! It was so very hard to choose just five. Actually, it was a lot easier after I banned myself from having more than one Sailor Moon item on the list >.< Here are five geeky clothing items I need in my closet…NOW!
ModCloth’s Trip to Kawaii Dress is almost too cute! Covered in Sanrio characters including my favorite, Hello Kitty. I’ve wanted this dress forever, but it always sells out in my size first.
Sailor Moon Skater Dress from Living Dead is EVERYTHING. Love another senshi? THEY HAVE THEM ALL!
Jinx of MTCoffinz creates these awesome apron/pinafore skirts that can be custom made to whatever you fancy. I’ve always wanted this Reese from Animal Crossing pinafore. I love Animal Crossing and think it would be fun to wear at a con. Now, to convince the boof to wear Cyrus’ costume.
I love geeky themed leggings. These Totoro themed leggings made to order ones from Zelas are awesome.
I live in dresses, but how could I say no to a shirt featuring bad ass Ryuko Matoi of Kill la Kill? I couldn’t! So this shirt it’s the last item of my list! Kill la Kill is the show that re-launched my love for anime (It’s on Netflix and Crunchyroll!) and Ryuko is…awesome.
What geeky clothing items are on your wishlist? Did you participate in Fandom Friday? You should! Shoutout to The Nerdy Girlie and Super Space Chick for creating such a fun and geeky link-up!
I love hair accessories. If you see me, more likely that not, I’m wearing a headband to hold my hair back or have a clip of some kind adorning my hair. This edition of Friday faves is dedicated to rad hair accessories made by equally rad ladies.
(clockwise) // These glitter heart pins are so cute! You can find them at Make+Do. Or you can try your hand at making your own! The owner of the shop posted a tutorial on her blog. I made a couple and always get complimented when I wear them. Here’s the post if you’re interested in making your own —> D.I.Y. Glitter Heart Pins // I’m half-Sierra Leonean so Ankara and African textiles in general have always been a part of my style. These Ankara braided headbands from QuellyRue are so colorful. Sure to brighten any outfit up! // Gwen, of A Geek and Her Oven, recently added bows to her shop. They’re all darling, but my favorite is Liz. Named after Liz Lemon of 30 Rock.I love the soft blue color and hello?! It’s covered in donuts. DONUTS! Find bows and other geeky accessories at A Geek and Her Shop.
Share your favorite shops to find hair accessories! I’m always searching for new ones.
“If my blog was an outfit…” is a fun linkup hosted by Hairspray and High Heels and A Dose of Paige. I’m not a fashion blogger at all! I didn’t even have Polyvore before this linkup, but it looked so fun, I just had to participate. Here’s what my blog would wear if it were an outfit!
My blog is very casual so of course she would be in boyfriend style jeans and Toms. Lots of color to represent her randomness. She would wear a Sailor Neptune shirt as a shout out to her favorite fandom and a huge Tokidoki tote for carrying around her 3DS for gaming, notebooks and a travel guide for planning her next adventure, and snacks. Because SNACKS!
Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics edition!
I love the Olympics and always tune in to watch whether summer or winter. If you follow me on twitter, you’ll probably see a bunch of Olympic themed tweets for the next couple of weeks. The opening ceremony took place today. The main event took us on a brief tour of the history, music, and culture of Russia. I loved it! Flaws and all. Especially the fifth olympic ring fail! The fifth unopened Olympic ring spawned some hilarious pics and tweets.
Anywho, enough about those rings. Here are my five favorite opening ceremony looks from the parade of nations!
Germany’s rainbow colored outfits. Political statement or not, these outfits are fun!
USA’s sweaters got a lot of hate on Twitter, but I love them. I’d wear it.
France! Looking all…Francey in this simple but stylish outfit
How cute are Canada’s red toggle jackets!?
Lithuania with their bright shades of green! This was my favorite look of all.
Did you tune in to the opening ceremony? Which country had your favorite or least favorite look?
