Happy birthday to me!
StockSnap_U03L2OTSU3
Well…it’s not technically my birthday, but I celebrate all month long. Yep. I’m one of those people. I celebrate by treating myself to my favorite things all of March.
Fresh tulips! Cupcakes and cookies for lunch. Baskin Robbins for dinner. Taking advantage of ModCloth sales (bought 5 dresses from the stylish surprise sale)! Lunch and brunch dates!! Using vacation days just to sleep in. Tickets to see Radiohead in New Orleans in less than a month! Little things that make my day brighter.

Happy March!

April

Saw smashing Pumpkins. Went on yummy dinner dates. Had brunch with a new friend. Had a really successful month in the shop. Got back on keto. Lost 10lbs. Made a habit of working out. Saw the Zelda Symphony. Started therapy again. Subsequently started anxiety meds again. Fell in love with Skinny Pop Popcorn. Got addicted to MiiTomo for a couple of days. Got new specs! Abandoned my sewing machine. Participated as a vendor in a vintage expo.

…and a lot of other stuff I didn’t mention. But those are the highlights.

Burn The Witch

If you know me, you know my love for Radiohead. I adore this band and have since I was a 13 year old weirdo (twenty years ago, OMG). No surprises (hehe…radiohead joke) that I’ve been in a super anxious state this week. They deleted their social media presence on Sunday-which freaked me out! New album?! WHEN?! I NEED IT NOW!

Up until today I had been stalking r/radiohead and their social media sites for any change and then it happened! They released two cryptic video clips on Instagram and I knew, I KNEW-that something was coming today. And that something was a new single/video. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve already listened/watched the music video, but I can tell you that I love it and am so looking forward to hearing the rest of the album and seeing them in LA in a couple of months.

SO GOOD

February

February was filled with lots of brunches, dinner dates with friends, mirror/outfit selfies because I’m becoming more comfortable with my body, cupcakes,  voting, new comics, new friends, knitting a scarf even though it’s warming up, workouts, Dr. Seuss week with my preschool class, and finding  the perfect purse (the rainbow one in the middle!) while thrifting!

Sew good!

Merry Christmas! This holiday was a quiet one for me. And I couldn’t have been more happy. My mom and I made Christmas dinner and just stayed home. No visitors and we didn’t have any obligations to go anywhere. It was a nice and welcome change from the normal hustling and bustling around in an attempt to see everyone and their cousin and their kids and…you get the picture.
I received some really cool gifts, but my most favorite is my new sewing machine!

I’ve been wanting a sewing machine  for awhile and was so ecstatic when I opened it! I bought some fabric and immediately dove into learning all about my machine and stitches. My go-to guide for all things has been Tilly and the Buttons. Her blog has a beginner’s sewing section that has been so great at teaching me the basics.

I’ve already completed my first project. The Brigitte scarf, one of Tilly’s beginner patterns.

It was pretty simple and turned out super cute!
I ordered her book, Love at First Stitch, and can’t wait to get it and create some more.
Are you a seamstress? Have any recommended beginner patterns? Or books/ blogs that can help a beginner? Let me know!!

Hello

*peeps in*
Hello? Anyone out there?
It’s been a year since I regularly blogged around here. A year end roundup is the perfect way to catch Heart, Soph up on my going-ons.

2015 has been a great year for me. I washed my hands of  toxic “friends” , made new friends,  traveled-(L.A. And London), got a new(used) car, started working at a great school, Hearts and Hearts Vintage participated in two pop up shops, and I *finally* learned to swim!

You were alright, 2015! Here’s to an even better 2016!
